Wishing Sophie a fantastic 11th birthday celebration!
It feels like only yesterday we were cheering on her first 10th birthday celebration.
It definitely feels like just yesterday when Sophie showed up at our place and made herself right at home, with no intentions of ever leaving.
Sophie was the second foster pet that didn’t get adopted, but we like to think she chose us as her family and home. Our sweet Midwestern/southern girl adapted surprisingly well to the snowy winters of New England. Just look at that adorable snow-nose picture! Sophie, or Snowphie as we like to call her, is still as cute and lovable as ever.
She can be quite a show-off when she’s in the mood.
Sophie’s special day calls for a delicious peanut butter carob cake that she’ll be enjoying with her siblings. Let’s all send our best wishes to her and maybe even give our furry friends a few extra treats in celebration! Happy Birthday to our beloved Sophie!

As the years go by, Sophie continues to be a source of joy in our lives. There’s something truly magical about having an older pet around—there’s a quiet wisdom in their eyes, a calm energy that settles over the home, and a deep, unspoken bond that grows stronger with each passing day. Sophie has always had that magic, and as she gets older, it only seems to deepen. Her presence is a comforting reminder of all the years we’ve shared, filled with laughter, love, and even the occasional mess that comes with having a four-legged companion.
Over the years, Sophie has taught us so much. From the way she curls up by the window, watching the world go by, to the gentle way she nudges her siblings when they need a little extra love, Sophie has shown us what it means to be patient and kind. She’s never in a rush, always taking her time to enjoy the little things, whether it’s the warmth of the sun on her fur or the soft pat of a hand on her back. She reminds us to slow down, to savor every moment, and to appreciate the little joys in life.
As she’s gotten older, Sophie has also become a little more spoiled—though, we like to think she deserves it! We’ve noticed her enjoying her naps more than ever before, curling up in her favorite spots, surrounded by her family and all the love she’s ever needed. The energy that once drove her to chase after squirrels and play tug-of-war with her siblings has now turned into a gentle, steady rhythm of walks in the neighborhood, leisurely sniffing the flowers, and soaking up every bit of affection that comes her way. And of course, there’s no shortage of treats in her life—because who can resist spoiling a senior lady like Sophie?
Sophie’s journey with us has been nothing short of remarkable. From the day she arrived, a sweet and shy girl who didn’t know where she belonged, to becoming the center of our world, Sophie has truly found her place in our hearts. It wasn’t love at first sight, but over time, we all grew to understand each other’s rhythms, and now, it feels like she’s always been a part of this family. Her transition into our lives was smooth, but it wasn’t without its challenges. There were moments of uncertainty, moments when she was unsure of her surroundings, and times when we had to show her patience and trust.
